Delvene Cockatoo-Collins Art

Delvene Cockatoo-Collins is an Aboriginal artist who belongs to the Quandamooka people and lives and works on Minjerribah - North Stradbroke Island, Australia.

Her artwork are expressions of her family’s lived experiences on North Stradbroke Island, responses to images and texts related to her family, the relationship to her great-great grandmother, traditional mat making techniques, and the use of clays and pigments found across Quandamooka in South East Queensland.

Delvene handprints homewares including tea towels and cushion covers in studio and provides a space for workshops, commissions and on island tours.

Delvene is the designer of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018 Prizewinners Medals, Commemorative Medal, the large inflatable Migalu, which featured in the Opening Ceremony and the costumes for the medal presenters.

For the May 2020 Meeanjin Markets Delvene has available hand printed tea towels, cushion covers, linen tops and framed prints.
